Whale Watching is one of the essential things to do in Coffs Harbour this winter. Getting up close to a primal being is a fantastic experience that you will never forget. Best of all, all our guests of Pacific Marina will receive a special price for whale watching this season. So, starting this June long weekend, our friends Rob, Mike and Debbie at the Jetty Dive Centre are giving our lucky guests a $10.00 discount. This applies right through to the end of the Humpback Whale migration in October. Rest assured, Mike and Debbie are 25-year veterans of the local seas, and they know just where to go to give you the best experience.
Do Not Miss This Experience!
“Jetty Dive Shop and the marina are only minutes to walk from your Pacific Marina Apartment. I urge you not to miss this opportunity to experience the whales; it really is one of the best things to do in Coffs Harbour. Our friends Mike and Debbie at Jetty Dive have a fantastic safety record, and we trust them completely to look after our guests.” says Dan, the General Manager at Pacific Marina.
Humpbacks Have Made a Wonderful Recovery
According to the International Whaling Commission, humpback whales have made a strong recovery. Despite being almost hunted to near extinction in their Southern feeding and Northern breeding grounds through the 1920s to ’50s. In fact, numbers are moving towards their estimated pre-exploitation numbers of 75,000 – 100,000. Consequently, visitors of Coffs Harbour will be delighted by what is predicted to be the biggest season yet for whale watching along the Coffs Coast.
“The whales have been increasing in numbers every year, and it will be interesting to see how they are again this year,” says Rob, the owner and operator of Jetty Dive. In fact, Rob’s so confident he’s putting an extra boat in the water this year. “We’ll have 30 extra seats this year, and we don’t foresee too much trouble filling them”.
Whale Watching is Top of the Things to do in Coffs Harbour
Watching the whales is an essential part of our thriving tourism on the Coffs Coast. Sure, observing these mighty mammals from the headlands is a great experience. However, nothing compares to being on the water when one of these 40-ton beasts breaches the surface with an impressive acrobatic display! Now, with ever-increasing numbers, the likelihood of a safe but exciting encounter is better than ever.
Bookings Are Essential
The three daily whale watching boat times are 9 am, 11 am and 2 pm. Bookings are essential, and Pacific Marina Apartments guests will receive a $10 per person discount.
